Our Progress

UCLPartners is developing and helping implement a diverse portfolio of improvement initiatives across the health care spectrum. Highlights of our work to date include:

• A new model of care for acute stroke. We have helped our partners implement a new cross-sector model of care for stroke that has reduced mortality to below 10% in North Central London, against a 22% national average.
• New approaches to integrated care. We have supported delivery for Whittington Health, helping create a single organization spanning primary, community and hospital care, organised around the needs of patients and the local population.
• A platform to develop new treatments for brain cancer. We have worked with partners to create the platform for a globally relevant R&D programme in London to address the previously intractable challenge of improving brain cancer survival through new treatments.
• “Open Eyes”. We have worked with Moorfield’s Eye Hospital and the Institute of Ophthalmology to extend the application of  a groundbreaking, clinically-driven electronic patient record which can be owned by the patient.
