NCEL LETB – Annual Investment Plan and Five Year Workforce Strategy – development event

Posted on by cate

We would like to invite you or a colleague to attend the third NCEL LETB development event.

The NCEL LETB will commission education and training from April 2013 and can make a real impact on the quality of education and training for the benefit of patients, employers, students and trainees.

Since the last event – held in July – we have been recognised by the Department of Health as a Shadow LETB. We are delighted to be able to announce the appointment of Dame Christine Beasley as our Independent Chair. Christine was until recently Chief Nurse for England. This important appointment paves the way for us to agree the shadow Board composition and to seek nominations for non-executive board members.  We expect to have the majority of Board appointments in place in time for our first shadow LETB Board meeting scheduled for November.

The appointment of the shadow Board will enable us to move to full authorisation by March 2013.  In doing so we need your opinions, input and support to finalise the LETBs governance structure and operating model, and to develop the emerging draft investment plan and five year-workforce strategy.

Please cascade this invitation to those most suited in your organisation to be provided with insight on this agenda and most able to input into developments moving forward (background information is provided at the end of this invite).
